As COVID-19 continues its rapid spread, the need to accurately diagnose and document new cases of the novel coronavirus is critical to healthcare providers, their communities, and the patients they serve. In response to the pandemic, IMO Health has created IMO Precision COVID-19 Sets, a value set solution aimed at helping providers with workflow and cohort management connected to the coronavirus. Effective today, IMO Precision COVID-19 Sets is available to our customers, free of charge.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is a once in a lifetime crisis for our society. By providing up-to-the-minute, clinically accurate, specific terminology mapped to the rapidly changing international standard codes, IMO Health is ensuring that governments and institutions have access to the right information as quickly as possible to fight the virus,” said Andrew S. Kanter, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer at IMO Health.

By leveraging IMO Precision COVID-19 Sets, clinicians can use their electronic health record or health information system to find relevant groups of patients, or use the data for tracking outcomes and analyzing management protocols. IMO Health has been engaged in the response to COVID-19 since the beginning of 2020. On January 30, IMO Health released 15 new descriptors to help clinicians more accurately record diagnoses related to COVID-19. The number of descriptors has since grown to 154.
