How long have you worked at IMO, what is your role, and what does it entail?
I have been working at IMO for almost four years. As the Director of Enterprise IT, my role is to maintain technology resources and provide IT solutions for all employees to use across the organization. From Cloud; to enterprise systems and networks; to desktops – my teams provide the necessary enterprise support for all employees within the company.
How does your job at IMO add value to our clients?
My job indirectly provides value to IMO clients. By providing and maintaining the tools needed for employees to optimize their performance; we, in turn, enable them to successfully support and develop products for our clients. Working for a healthcare IT company – and helping our internal employees operate efficiently and effectively – that’s how I contribute to the impact that we make in the industry.

How has working at IMO changed your perspective as a patient, an employee, a manager, or otherwise?
Working at IMO has changed my perspective as a manager. The leadership and training that is offered to managers at IMO to help them succeed shows the company’s true and unique investment in their employees. Through this investment, I have grown stronger as a manager by enhancing my ability to make decisions and providing direction for solutions. In addition, I’m able to provide leadership and help my managers with their careers – which positively impacts their teams as well. Becoming a stronger leader has helped both myself and my teams to operate at a higher level and successfully implement and complete numerous projects.
How have you grown professionally or personally since you started working at IMO?
When I started at IMO, my manager introduced the book Radical Candor to me. The basis of the book from a management point of view is to personally care for others, while also directly challenging them. When you care about an employee and their well-being, your relationship with that employee becomes stronger. This bond creates a long-lasting, positive effect and establishes a more meaningful connection. This simple, yet effective, management strategy has helped me grow immensely both personally and professionally. I strongly feel this growth has had a significant, positive impact on the environment in which my teams work.
Tell us about a moment, an exchange, or experience you had at IMO that made you realize, “I’m in the right place.”
A few years back we had an employee lose many personal belongings in an apartment fire. Immediately, people donated clothes, furniture, and money to help a fellow IMO colleague. This outpouring of help from everyone in the company showed me that IMO is not just a business, it’s also a place where people care about each other. At previous companies, I had not experienced this high level of generosity and caring, and it truly impacted my outlook. This was one of many moments at IMO where I genuinely felt this is a great company and I’m in the right place.
